Catatan bacaan buku Nike.

Phil Knight memula bisnes dengan menjual kasut Tiger Onitsuka. Beliau telah berkunjung ke Kobe melawat HQ Onitsuka pada 1962. Itulah perjalanan keluar negara pertama beliau.

Selepas selesai urusan di Jepun Phil Knight menyambung kembara melawat Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, Vietnam, dan Calcutta. Beliau menyambut xmas 1962 di Calcutta.

From Calcutta he went to Kathmandu then back to India for new year in Bombay. Then Kenya. Then Cairo. Then Jerusalem. Then to Istanbul. Then Rome

Phil also went to Florence to look for Dante. Then to Milan for Da Vinci and opera at La Scala. La Scala was built in 1778. Then to Venice (the place of Marco Polo). Then to Paris. Then to Munich. Then Berlin.

Then Vienna the place Stalin, Trotsky, Tito, Hitler, Jung and Freud have been. Vienna also famous place associated to Beethoven. Beethoven was deaf yet very talented.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
