Regis Blachere was a French orientalist and translator of the Quran - Le Coran published in 1947. Blachere was attemted to rearrange the Surah in the chronological order of their revelation.

Regis Blachere berkhidmat sebagai profesor di Soborne Uni pada 1950-1970. Sebelum itu beliau pernah berkhidmat di sebuah institut di Rabat, Morocco pada 1930-1935. Kemudian berkhidmat di National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilazation, Paris pada 1935-1950.

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid.
