Tyrant Paraguay President - Francisco Solano Lopez (1827-1870)


Buku Tyrants menyenarai seratus tokoh sebagai tyrant. Turut tersenarai adalah Fransisco Solano Lopez (1827-1870), Dictator of Paragua. Beliau mati dibunuh pada 1870 di sebuat lokasi nama Cerro Cord. Namun satu yang pelik nila mana Fransisco Lopez diangkat sebagai National Hero oleh negara Paraguay pada  1936. Turut diangkat sama adalah isteri beliau Eliza Lynch sebagai National Heroine pada 1961.

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid.
