Tesis Tentang Perang Larut 1861-1875


Jarang ditemui tesis sejarah Malaya yang menyentuh tentang Perang Larut. Ketika mencari bahan bacaan tentang tajuk Perang Larut ditemui sebuah tesis bertajuk "Colonial Historiography: A non-Western perspective of the Larut Wars (1861-1875". Tesis dikemuka oleh Asiatul Hana dari UM ke Uiam pada 2021. Pemeriksa Luar adalah Mahani Musa dan Kamaruzzaman Yusof. [researchgate - link].

In this study the researcher did a re-appraisal of the Larut Wars, re-evaluate the socio-political and economic motivations and consequences of the British involvement and its impact on the Perak sultanate.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid.
