Berikut adalah tesis geodesi dari University of South Florida, USF. Sebuah uni yang bukannya berlatar geodesi sebaliknya dalam geoscience. Tesis bertajuk "Theory and application of geophysical geodesy for studying earth surface deformation" dikemukakan ke Geology Department. Tesis oleh Makan A Karegar pada 2018. Examiner berlatar belakang geodesi yang terlibat adalah Jurgen Kusche.

Kata kunci kajian adalah - GPS, GRACE, nuisance flooding, subsidence dan surface loading.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
