Croatia Geoid 2015

 

A new and most recent geoid for Croatia was computed recently at Faculty of Geodesy, U of Zagreb. The geoid was computed by a PhD candidate Olga Bjelotomic. The geoid computation done by Olga was implemented using least squares of Stokes modification approach. She already submitted and defended her thesis and awarded with a PhD in Technical Sciences. Her research was supervised by Prof Tomislav Basic.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
