IAG 142 VIII Hotine-Marussi (Rome 2013)


IAG 142 is the proceedings of the VIII Hotine-Marussi Symposium on Mathematical Geodesy. The symposium was held in Rome in June 2013. It was took place at the Faculty of Engineering U of Rome "La Sapienza". 

IAG 142 was edited by Nico Sneeuw (Stuttgart), Pavel Novak  (U of Western Bohemia), Mattia Crespi (U of Rome "La Sapienza") and Fernando Sanso (Politecnico de Milano).

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
