Lecture Week 1 - Deformation Survey


The first two lectures on deformation survey in Week One of this semester were given at BK1. In the first lecture only ten students turned up while in the second fifteen students were there. The lectures cover basic introduction and highlighted the common tasks encountered in analyzing the deformation by geodetic method. Emphasis were given on the error of survey measurement and the important role of monitoring network particularly the datum point stability analysis.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid.
