P Georgiadou (1984) To define a body-fixed reference system for a deformable earth and its analytical form of movement under the influence of external forces

B Heck (1984) To determine recent vertical movements of the earth's crust and temporal changes in the gravitational field from repeated gravity measurements and leveling (habilitation).

Ernst Heinrich Knickmeyer (1984) An approximate solution of the general linear geodetic boundary value problem through series expansion according to spherical functions.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
