Geoid for British Isles - (Stewart PhD 1990)


Michael Paul Stewart graduated with a PhD from U of Edinburgh. His thesis entitled "Computation of a gravimetric geoid for the British Isles: An assessment of Fourier and classical techniques". The research was supervised by Dr Roger Hipkins.

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid.
