IAG 119 - Geodesy on the Move


IAG 119 – Geodesy on the Move was published in 1997 (together with IAG 118) by Springer. This book was published as proceedings of the IAG Scientific Assembly held in Rio de Janeiro in September 1997. The proceedings was convened and edited by Rene Forsberg of Denmark, M Feissel and Reinhard Dietrich of Germany.

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
