Berapakah ketinggian Puncak Everest?

Nepal Survey Authority telah menghantar pasukan geodetik untuk melakukan pengukuran ketinggian Puncak Everest. Misi pengukuran dengan GPS dilakukan pada 2019.

One of the Nepalese surveyors reportedly stayed at the peak for two hours, and lost a toe to frostbite, in 2019 measuring expedition.

They also have to measure the thickness of ice and snow underfoot, because they want a reading from the actual rock mountain, not the ice - and for that they need to also bring a ground-penetrating radar.
