Prof Sigl menulis satu artikel awal tentang perkembangan teknologi satellite dan sumbangannya kepada geodesi. Beliau menyampaikan syarahan artikel "The Contribution of Satellite Geodesy to Geosciences" di IUGG Hamburg 1983. Artikel ini berikutnya diterbit oleh Springer dalam GeoJournal Vol 8, No 4, 1984. Pada ketika itu Doppler masih diguna pakai manakala GPS masih dalam peringkat awal pelancaran. Teknologi satelit altimeter sudah beroperasi dengan adanya Seasat. Antaranya ialah Wicha Jiwalai (b.1944). Beliau menulis tesis PhD ‘ANALYSIS OF PHOTOGRAMMETRIC AERIAL CAMERA CALIBRATIONS’ pada 1977.    Tesis beliau di bawah seliaan Professor S.K. Ghosh, U.A. Uotila, D C Merchant dan Professor S. Weissman. Karier profesional Jiwalai meliputi berikut; Pada 2004 beliau aktif dengan ISPRS dan sebagai Chairman GISTDA Thailand.
