Manuscripta Geodaetica 1976


The first issue of Manuscripta Geodaetica was published in 1976. PSZ has a copy of this issue. The editorial board of MG was consists of the following professors - Vidal Ashkenazi (Nott.), Erik Grafarend (Munich) Erwin Groten (Darmstadt), Fereno Halmos, Jean Kovalevsky (Grasse), Ron Mather (UNSW), Peter Meissl (Graz) and Ivan I Mueller (OSU) as Chairman.

Tahun 1976 mula mengikuti kursus dut tahun pertama. Mendaftar lewat dan tidak dapat menyertai dua projek pertama chain survey dan compass survey. Terus ke projek ketiga iaitu plane table. Pengajar subjek ukur ketika itu ialah pensyarah dari Indonesia. M1 dan M2 masing-masing Sufaat dan Mohd Rasidi. F oleh Amma Pillay. Habit lama masih terpakai kelas tutorial M1, M2 langsung tidak ambil pusing.

KPU ialah Dato' Paul Foo (period Sep 76 - Mac 79). Sebelum beliau ialah Kok Swee Tuck (Nov 73 - Ogos 76). Source - jupem. Nota tambahan: Dato' Paul Foo meninggal dunia pada 2019. Source - zams.

Sedikit Tentang Barmakid dan Balkh

Bila membaca sejarah Abbasid khususnya pada era awal, era Harun Al-Rashid dan sebelumnya juga, kita akan jumpa mengenai Barmakid. Keluarga Barmakid dikata berasal dari Parsi dan dulunya pernah menganut agama Buddha. Pertama memeluk Islam kalangan keluarga Barmakid adalah Khalid ibn Barmakid (d.782). Beliau memeluk Islam sekitar tahun 720an. Keluarga Barmakid pernah menjadi pembesar Abbasid yang mendapat kepercayaan istana Abbasid Harun Al-Rashid. Menurut Britannica, Barmakid adalah - link ; Barmakids , priestly  family  of Iranian origin, from the city of  Balkh  in Khorāsān, who achieved prominence in the 8th century as scribes and viziers to the early  Abbāsid  caliphs.
