A technical visit to BUDA - a prominent utility surveying company in Hong Kong has been materialized back then a few years ago (i.e., in 2011). BUDA stands for Buried Utility Damage Avoidance, a company which mainly engaged in underground utility survey and mapping using  most advanced technologies and equipment including GPR, PCL and CCTV. This visit was arranged as part of the fact-finding mission for preparing the proposal and the syllabus for a new taught course program (MSc Underground Utility Mapping). Include in the technical visit program on utility survey is the visit to Land Surveying and Geo-Information (LSGI) Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU). This visit was arranged to share their experience in establishing the BSc in Utility Surveying program. This undergraduate program is the only one available in the world offered by academic department at university level. A thick 587 pages book "System Earth via Geodetic-Geophysical Space Techniques" was published by Springer in 2010. The book was edited by Frank Flechtner (GFZ), Thomas Gruber (TU Munchen), Andreas Guntner (GFZ), Miora Mandea (IPGP France), Markus Rothacher (ETH Zurich), Tilo Schone (GFZ) and Jens Wickert (GFZ). The book is the continuation of the book series on Champ, Grace and Goce mission results. IAG 135 "Gravity, Geoid & Earth Observation" is the proceedings of the IAG International Symposium Commission 2 - Gravity Field. The symposium was held in Chania, Crete, Greece in June 2008. The proceedings was edited by Stelios P Mertikas of TU Crete.
