The additive corrections in the KTH approach involved  four separate corrections and the combined topographic correction is the first to be dealt with. The Division of Geodetic Science OSU has continued presenting the Heiskanen award to outstanding geodesist. The award was started in 1959 with the first three awardees was Clarence Robert Johnson followed by Jesse Schreiter (1960) and Mar Ann Hmphre (1961).
