Gravity field research in Norway is getting more active of late with the involvement of Ch Gerlach attachment at nmbo. A number of research output can be noticed. Among them is a review paper "Observation, validation, modeling - historical lines and recent results in Norwegian gravity field research" by Christian Gerlach, Michal Sprlak, Katrin Bentel and Bjorn Petterson (23 pages). Tomorrow Friday Feb 23, a friend of mine will have his viva defense which will starts at 1 o'clock (Stockholm time). Mehdi Joud has completed his thesis entitled "Contribution of satellite geodesy to post-glacial rebound research". His work is supervised by Professor Lars Sjoberg of Geodesy Dept, KTH Sweden. We (me, Sjoberg and Mehdi) get acquainted during Geoid School program in UTM in 2012. The Geoid School was a one week program at which I became the Chairman of the organizing committee, Sjoberg as the main lecturer and Dr Ramin (from Iran) as the instructor for the lab work. Mehdi came to Geoid School as participant and he is from Iran. He went to KTH one year after the geoid school (in 2013). May you success Mehdi! Today is the first day of lecture for the new semester. Actually, the lecture should supposedly starts last week but in consideration of the approaching CNY holiday the arrangement was made to enable students to return late to campus. The first lecture of IS this morning covers on the introduction to IS particularly on the question of what is IS and why IS is been introduced to surveying profession. Pentax Surveying still actively continuing with their production of new surveying instruments. The latest total surveying solution from Pentax are reflectorless total stations (R-1500N & R-2800N). They also having Windows CE Total Stations (W-1500N & W-2800). While on GPS product they have  GNSS Receivers (G6 Ti Ni). In scanning system they have 3D laser measurement (S-3180V). In addition for UAV they have Precise Aerial Imaging System (D-600). New Pentax Products - - - - -
