In the second day of JTS workshop a presentation on height modernization was given. The talk covers on the concept of height modernization and a short review on geoid modelling. Presentation on height modernization - - - - -

After finished the day one session in the night we were treated with a special dinner. The dinner was held at the Sarawak Club House and hosted by a practising land surveyor, Mr Bong. He is also contributing in the establishment of Cors point for the survey project. The dinner was attended also by two JTS officers Encik Ruslan (ADS) and Encik Romzi. At the JTS workshop I was given a slot to present on the status of Sarawak precise levelling network (SPLN). The presentation covers on the brief history of the SPLN, the development work done by Jupem and the status and results of latest adjustment of SPLN. The project for computing geoid for Oman has been accomplished by researcher from York University, Canada. The research project was completed and culminated into a MSc thesis by Patrick Lasagna in the graduate program of earth and space science. The work was supervised by Prof Spiros Pagiatakis.
